Diane Phillips
of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, is an educational facilitator and a training associate of the Center for Adaptive
Schools and the Center for Cognitive CoachingSM. A former classroom teacher, resource teacher, senior
years consultant, and, most recently, assistant superintendent, she has presented numerous workshops for teachers
at the provincial, national and international levels on topics such as the adaptive school, differentiating instruction,
learning styles, multiple intelligences, literacy in the high school, and assessment at senior years. She has
worked extensively with district leadership and principal teams on topics such as leadership in differentiating
instruction, leadership in literacy, leadership in assessment for learning, being an adaptive school board, working
with difficult people, the adaptive school and Cognitive CoachingSM.
Diane has many years of experience in developing and facilitating collaborative groups in both school and district professional learning communities. She has a passion for learning and her goal is to provide administrators and teachers with practical strategies to extend the learning of students and staff. She is current in the new research on teaching and learning and works towards developing a culture that honours educator collaboration, reflection, self-analysis and self-direction.
