Kathryn (Harwell) Kee

Kathy served for eight years as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD before retiring in May of 2002. Kathy is recognized for her energetic, effective, creative, and often unconventional approaches to teaching which have brought her many leadership honors both as a teacher and administrator. The greatest honors include serving as the first president and Executive Director of the Texas Staff Development Council (which selected her as 1993 Outstanding Staff Developer in Texas), serving as national chairperson for the National Staff Development Council Conference held in Dallas in December of 1993, and serving as President of the National Staff Development Council in 1998.

Kathy's philosophy is based on her commitment to dignify and empower people by teaching the skills of self-evaluation and reflection and a steadfast belief that quality-focused staff development is the secret ingredient for every success in education.
