Peter McCarthy

Peter McCarthy is Director for Administrative Services for Solvay School District in Solvay, New York, where he is responsible for testing, data, accountability, communications, and information technology. In his previous position as Staff Development Specialist at Onondaga-Cortland-Madison Counties BOCES (OCM BOCES), he offered training and consulting in standards and assessments, team building and facilitation, data analysis, and comprehensive district planning. A large portion of his time was spent working in schools with teams on planning, data analysis, action research, and job-embedded professional development. He presented workshops in Cognitive CoachingSM, Adaptive Schools, mentoring, Dimensions of Learning and Differentiating Instruction. Before joining OCM BOCES, he was a special education teacher in North Syracuse. His background includes teaching English and GED preparation, as well as special education. He has a B.A. from Holy Cross College, an M.S. in Education from Syracuse University, and a C.A.S. from SUNY Cortland.
